New to me in February 2008:






Put a SS 1.2 in May 2009, then had a custom rear swing-away bumper made by Big Country Customs in July. Here is the bumper being welded up. Added a lot of clearance and the swing arm bends nicely with the main tube. Their standard swing arms had been C channels before, but I asked them to do a fully boxed tube design.

My intention is to build a good expedition vehicle. I decided to take the following route (in chronological order): Lift, Bumper, Tires, Winch/Front Armour, Sliders, Lockers/Re-gear. My reasoning for that order is that I need the lift to stuff the tires, I need the bumper to fit the bigger spare, and the tires determine gearing that I need. So I might as well do the diff work all at once. I tossed the Budbuilts in early because someone made me an offer on the stockers that I couldn't refuse! My Shrockworks bumper is out for powdercoating and my Warn M8000 awaits. I'll slap that on, along with a pair of Stubbs sliders within the month (get all the welding done at once). Following that, lockers, gears, and onboard air then I can step back and take a breather.
Or so I think, right?

 

Nice truck, but you'll never be able to step back and take a breather, you'll find something else that "needs" to be done first. It's an addiction.

That looks like a good start! Do you have an E-locker? That will make the winch a very lightly used tool. How do you like those tires? Thinking about getting a set when my Truxus are done.

 

The tires are awesome. Just used them in deep snow up some forest service roads in baker and through ridiculously deep water and storms the past few days.

No lockers yet. Going to do double ARBs.

 

That's good to hear I need my truck to get me up the ski hills so the tires being good in the snow is a big thing.

Lockers are the best mod ever!! You will be blown away with the difference.

I've got new black alloys with 4in backspacing and put on a full size spare. So these are already out of date.
