Dylan22's 2002 4Runner Build-Up Thread

Dylan22's 2002 4Runner Build-Up Thread

Just bought a black 02 4runner last week, 87k on the clock, super clean paint and interior. Bought it in NH and drove it down to mass last weekend. Heres a cell phone pic of it in the driveway:

Currently have some various mods planned for it, ordered a 3rd gen specific Baja Rack, an ultimate toytec 3" lift, and a 1" 4crawler (RB) body lift. I'm going to drive it cross country to take it out to school in colorado, and will buy some 285s and get them mounted out there. I figure I might as well use the highway tires if I'm driving almost 2k miles. I will also probably need spacers to fully clear the larger tires, was thinking about the 1.25" all pro ones. I also like the look of the wider stance better. I will update this thread as the mods start to get installed and as I get ready for some light wheeling in colorado and moab this fall and then ski season in the winter!

Havent been here in ages, here is a bit of an update on the car. First took the running boards off:

Then, after driving out to colorado, installed the lift and the baja rack, and shortly after, a set of 285 tires that I found on craigslist. They were like new, but for about half off new price. Heres the car in the shop getting tires put on and alignment.

This is pretty much how the car sits at this point, currently being used every weekend to go skiing, excursions, ect. Heres a picture of it in Telluride earlier this fall during a long weekend trip.

Up next is to install the body lift, when I have time, but have not noticed any rubbing after trimming a bit off the bumper, and like the way the car sits now. Perhaps in the spring it will get installed when I go off road more.

Telluride is one of my favorite places, Only taken jeeps there, we wheeled down Black bear pass scary it was...

What trails have you taken the runner down? Black Bear? We may be planning a trip next summer up there to do some wheeling with the runners
