I have a 98 4runner 5 speed 4x4 with the 3.4L
I see a lot of people asking around about performance on the 5vzfe engine. I have done a lot of research and it never really was descriptive. i bought a extra 3.4L because i was planning on doing a swap into my 94 and then realized it was just going to be cheaper to get the 3rd gen and just replace the engine. so that's what im doing. the reason im posting this is because around December time frame, if all goes well, im going to rebuild the spare 5vz but for performance and i will hopefully squeeze 500hp out of it with a single turbo. The hardest part will probably be tuning it. My dad has a shop, not with a dyno or tuning equipment unfortunately. and he will help with the build. I have to wait till December due to the fact that I live overseas. I will hopefully be on leave in December to build it. If you are interested in or have concerns about this build or just have questions, feel free to ask! I will be filming the whole thing or try to and post it to YouTube. Hopefully I don't blow it up.

The husband has a 93 Volvo wagon with a bit of oomph, in pieces again as the wrist pins didn't handle the strain. At least there's no holes in the block this time! So yeah, that last sentence....

Will be interesting to see how the 3.4 does when you Frankenstein it, and what you do to achieve your goal. I know you said vids, but don't forget the pics too! Be safe and will watch for your start in December.
