as far as fast suv's? the 4runner is fun, but not fast. I have driven many different ones, and the fastest one I have driven hands down is the BMW X5 4.8is. that thing moves. my favorite SUV? LX470 or GX470.

Um, I had a '92 Sentra SE-R once, and I can tell you that it would outrun my 4Runner even if the SE-R started out in 3rd gear and the 4Runner had a headstart.

[QUOTE=Bumpin' Yota]

O2SE is right, 95% of all street cars are slow. In the grand scheme of things, "FAST" is under 11 or so on the quarter mile....

11 second quarter mile? What kind of car are you talking about? Ferrari enzo?

I have to ad my 2 cents here....

my 97' 4X4 3.4 auto, with 265 75 BFG Muds will totally, really really really spin the tires with a 'powerbreak'.

I just did this about a week ago and was pretty impressed.
I stomped the break, and floored it... (not eased on it) and the rears (or possibly just one) TOTALLY spun.... ALOT.

If anyone doubts this, I will make a movie with my digi cam and post it.

not sure, I hav an '01, 3.4, and it is slower than any Ford F series truck I've owned. In the top end it might have a little more, but I get toasted by most compacts, aside from minvans, and POS cars, I got nothin'

Whenever I did the deckplate, ISR, and got my exhaust done, I was engaging in some "spirited" driving for the next few days and learned that I could spin the tires going into second pretty easily- no clutch dumping.. I dont drive like that anymore.. I have 112k on a stock clutch (as far as I know) and want to stretch it as far as I can.

yeah, the deckplate really opened up my power band in the 4k+ range...little seat-of-yer pants. But still, when you go add'ing steel to trucks like ours - forget it - your in a tank!

Mines actually pretty quick...I'll take a ton of cars, and ton of trucks too. But then again I have the S/C'r. But for fast driving, I get out the AllTrac...15psi.

I am gonna try that, I hope it doesn't mess up anything. Shouldn't if I do it once. I tried to do a brakestand (proper name for powerbreak) but I eased on the 'accelerator pedal' and it didn't work.

Jeeps are slow, they were not designed to go fast. It is about as aerodynamic as a brick on wheels, add on the crappy 4cyl, 33s and stock gearing and I think I could run faster. I love my jeep. There is not anything crappy about them at all, they are just different. While you guys are "smoking jeeps", we are cruising with the top down, enjoying looking at all the hotties that you are blowing by. Mrs. Fratelli loved Sloth even though he was different.

BTW, I do love my 4Runner - Im just picking on 4banginRunner because I am also a Jeep owner, and I love it as well - they are simply two different beasts.
