Even my sons are 'Yota believers. They've affectionately named the neighbors Ford Explorer "The Exploder".
205,000 on my '90 4Runner which I sold to a friend in 2002. It now has over 250,000 and still going strong.
215,000 on my '88 Camry which I sold in 2002. Still going when I saw it a few months ago.
175,000 on my '81 Celica which I sold in 1990 (when I bought the '90 4Runner) in showroom condition.
137,000 on my '97 Camry before my son almost totaled it last week.
87,000 on my '00 4Runner that I bought used in 2002 w/only 13,600 miles.

I think the transmissions lasting that long is a testament to their strength. I mean Dodge's and older Ford's tranny's are lucky to last 80k let alone 400k.
When I was in Australia I saw some Holden (GM) Taxi's w/ 750km's on the clock, now that's very respectable for a taxi considering how much stop and go driving they do. I did not ask how much maintanence had been on them.
But I don't see the Taxi's here lasting 487,000 miles no matter what you do to them.

all depends on how well you take care of it....
Congrats on the 400k.....how much you planning on keeping it?

Dealmaker has a point. For example, my dad used to be vice president of Diesel Recon which is Cummins for those that don't know and they had a guy who went into a dealer (early 90s) with a truck that had 900k some odd miles on it and he had a problem. His oil filter was stuck and he could not get it off. Anyhow, Diesel Recon bought the truck off the guy and also gave him a new Dodge Ram so they could run tests and such on it since that was the most miles on one of their "light" duty trucks/engine combinations. To my dad's knowledge they have it sitting on display at their El Paso complex on display. So, yeah, call Toyota and maybe something will happen. 400k miles on a unleaded gasoline engine is damn good. Congrats. I have 240k so I have a little while to go yet but she is still running strong.

Damn I just about to hit 100K, and I am pretty pumped. But 400K, that is awesome. I hope my 3.0 runs that long.
Silver Truck - On a side note, I see your engine is running, but were is your oil pressure? It looks to be off the scale.

That is bad assed...way to go 3.0! As far as 3rd gens go, I think Gapguy is holding the trophy for now. 200+ on a 97...damn! Toyota rocks...and the Ford earlier in the thread hitting over 300k? I bet that thing looks like Uncle Buck rolling down the road smokin' with no paint left on the hood after it all flaked off exposing nothing but bubbles and primer...

Dealmaker-I'm going to send them an email with pictures...they give you a sticker for every 100,000 mi. and like a coffee mug and plaque and stuff...we got a plastic one for 300k I'm hopin for stainless this time
4peanut-I drive about 4 mi to school 15 to work and probably 30 or so just screwin around.
Cynicx-I plan on keepin it till it completely dies...gonna long travel/dual case it next year. Doin chevy spring swap this summer then its gonna be set and all I'll be doin is maintenance
CMD93-my oil pressure gauge doesn't work anymore, the insulation got stripped off and it shorted out the gauge...I've got an aux gauge to monitor it.
Yobroe-Ya I like my 3.0 unlike most others on here...it allows me to run 34s w.out regearing (for now) with a 22re, no chance

That's damn good. The most I have had is 200K on my 88 4runner before I sold it. I did a compression test on it before I sold it 3 cyl. were at 4 psi. below stock and one at 5 psi. I now just hit 150K on my 96' and I did have a thermostat go out $15 and a starter rebuilt $10, o yeah I did have a transfer case seal go bad $8 damn expensive Toyotas.
The best part about owning a Toyota is that the money others spend on doing repairs we get to spend on mods.
