wiring help for my 89 4Runner

O.k..I've got an 89 4Runner with a wiring problem I think....upon acceleration it lags hard....I've done a tune up, replaced the coil and the ignitor and it still lags..Also it won't start without the toggle switch I've rigged up from the battery to the coil..lol...Someone told me that it could be a bad wire somewhere in a loom that runs from the ignitor...HELP PLEASE

It sounds like your problem could be a few other things. One thing that would help is what engine exactly do you have? I'm going to assume the 22R-E (fuel injected). Things that could contribute to your problems:
dirty fuel injectors
dirty throttle body
clogged fuel/air filter
bad airflow meter

Have you checked the timing? Did you have the terminals jumpered when you did this?

There's another couple dozen problems you could have, but I think these are more prominent than most, assuming you have new tune-up items.

Thanks JustAnotherJodieFE

Well...I've done a tune up recently and I replaced the coil and the ignitor...Someone did tell me that it might be the air flow filament in my K&N air filter charger system that's sending mixed signals...But ...I can't start my truck...So I rigged up a toggle switch directly from the battery to the coil...I also don't know if this is worsening the problem....
