winch-what do you think?
check out this winch on ebay- what do you guys think?? or am i better going with a name brand?? i have talked to several people who say any winch is basically the same and replacing parts,etc is basically thesame,etc

I guess I'd be cautious and wouldn't buy unless I could see it personally and would prefer to let someone else be the beta tester to see how good it is. China can obviously build good stuff if they want to, but thats the question - did these people want to?
I don't know what TUV and CE certifications mean, but as far as I can tell, all the ISO standard gets you is consistency. Its a process standard and not an absolute measure of "quality" as in how long it will last or anything like that. If you build junk, it should be consistent junk.

I think that you should get it. My Milemarker E8000 is a Chinese made winch that was purchased and rebadged as a Milemarker. Ramsey has done the same thing with this particular model and rebadged it as the Ramsey REP8000. Unless you are particularly brand loyal, then I think that a less expensive winch is still better than no winch when the situation warrants. In the end it is up to you and your wallet.
