Hi all. I really would like to get a set of Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo with Uni-T AQ11. Just woundering if they will fit my 03 4runner Sport Edition. The oem Dunlops are 265/65R17. The closes they have are 265/70R17. Will this cause any problems. Thanks

 

Only a slight difference in heighth, I would think you would be fine.

They are the same width, but they are an inch taller overall. (30.5" vs. 31.6")

There is NO difference in the width (265 mm) of the two tires. The 265/70 tire will be about 1" bigger in diameter, or about 3.3%. This will reduce the available torque by that percentage, fool your speedometer into telling you you're going 3.3% slower than you actually are and fool the odometer into showing mileage that's 3.3% less than you've actually covered.

I dunno about clearance. Maybe someone who's tried that particular tire can chime in.

 

Most of the time height isn't as big of a problem as width, so I think with a slightly taller tire you will be fine, but that's just my opinion. Maybe some 4th gen guys will chime in and give you their opinion.

 

I know it isn't Toyota, but I have a similar situation. On my 2000 JGC, it came stock with 245/70R16, but when I bought it (used), the dealer had put 245/75R16's. These are about an inch taller than stock. The 4th Gen wheel opening is similar to the JGC - only reason I mention this at all. Mine rubs at the front bumper/liner area under compression when turned, no where else.

you realize that no one who answered you gave you a definite answer b/c none of them have tried it.

but based on the experience of others i would guess that you will get slight rubbing on full turns.

 

Woodberts second thread stated he had no rubbing. So I should not have any issues. I guess I'll just have to try them out. To bad Bridgestone hasn't made our size tire. Would be so much easier. Oh well.

You will be fine with the 70 series upgrade. It'll make your 4runner look alittle bit beefier

You should not experience any rubbing at all. And if you do, it's probably only during full lock (u-turn) with some excessive speeds

Definitely a well worth upgrade for any vehicles!

 

Thanks for the reply. And if any torque is lost because of the difference in the tire size, the maganaflow muffler I'm going to install should take care of that.
