Wider Tires on 2003 4Runner
Newbie to the forum, recently bought a 2003 4runner and need to get rid of my lousy Dunlops. Was wondering if anyone has installed wider tires, like 285/65/17's on the 2003 4runner, It looks like the brake calipers? might be in the way. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks.

I ran 285/65R17's for a few months before I put the 3" Revtek suspension kit on and upped to 33x12.5's. The 285/65's will fit and look good, mine rubbed minimally on my mudflaps, but nothing major. Wheel offset could change that as well. They will work regardless.

Wider is better
I put a 15x10 rim w/ a 31x10.5 tire on a second gen and no rubbing I dont think it will fit anything bigger as the offset is huge and it really sticks out. Good luck to you

Anybody know where you can get 285/65/17's, I've had no luck finding any?
Also, I am putting on the Stock 17" alloy wheels with the 30mm offset, would that be a problem?

I am runnin 15x8" Tech1 Rock Crawlers with my 31x10.50 BFG A/T's and I only experience rubbing with articulation and at full turn going in reverse, other than that they are quiet as a mouse.

I have a set of 285/65R17's that have less than 3k miles on them. They are just sitting in the corner of my garage now that the 33's are on. They are Goodyear GT II's. They have been sipped and I paid $120 per tire. I would gladly sell all four to you for virtually nothing...you name a price and I'll ship em. Was just gonna take them back to the tire shop and get $50 a piece for them. Tread life on them is great, and they are a nice clean looking tire with white letters on one side. They are not a great off-road tire, but handled fine in the snow and rain while they were on. They are the only tire available as far as I know in that size...otherwise you go with a 275/70...I think?
The 285/65r17's measure 31.5x11.2
Get back to me.
