whining in 3rd and 5th

whining in 3rd and 5th

My wife has an '87 4runner, when the truck is in 3rd and 5th it makes a whining noise. It does it in 2 or 4wd and only when you push on the gas. I changed the fluid but have no idea what else it could be. Any ideas?????

are you sure it is only in those two gears. i have a bad input shaft bearing causing it to whine in all gears.

yes, i am fixing this soon.
