Don't know if you wheel your 4Runner or not, but the tail light guards I've seen bolt to the rear lights on the side where they are exposed when the tailgate is open. Once you shut the tailgate, you can't see where they mount. The guards then wrap around the lights towards the front of the vehicle. I've seen guys take their 4Runners through some very tight places and catch the guards on brush and tree limbs. They don't realize it 'til it's too late and end up ripping the guards right off damaging their lights at the same time.

IMHO, they do more harm than good.

i have em and worry about that happening. the PO must have had the lift adjusted (damaged???) because they wore into the lift. so i readjusted so they dont rub anymore.

if you're able to log on to yotatech.com, you're able to search online for taillight guards. it really isn't that hard.
