Where to buy a totalled tacoma?

So there was a 4x4 rally at Browns Camp here in Oregon today and me and a buddy went up in his cherokee to play around with the big boys. Needless to say, I noticed this SICK ass tacoma (the guy lives about 1/2 mile from me) which is really just a stock tacoma with a 3" spacer lift+ add-a-leaf on the back with 33x12.5" Boggers - chopped the front fenders and completely removed the bed so all it is, is a frame and the gas tank. oh did i forget to mention the frame was cut just to where the rear leafs attach to the frame and a crossmember was welded in place to hold a rear warn 9000i winch?! and it's got a custom snorkel. Best of all,is like a this thing year 2000+!!!
So I have come to the conclusion that if i can find a CHEAP totalled V6 tacoma with the newer body style, like 1999 or newer (not older than 1996) and an untouched cab/doors/hood, then I am going to buy it and turn it into a trailor-rig...only for the mud . When I say cheap, I am talking like maximum $4,500 or close to it for the truck.

My question is where would I go about searching for a totalled taco for this case? I have checked ebay and can't find anything totalled - could I call an insurance company and buy from insurance companies? i am located in oregon...lemme know what you all think.

Go to a local body shop and ask them for help. They do this all the time. They know where to find trucks like you are looking for.

hrm. but jeremy's truck isn't worth a damn...i'd have to replace EVERYTHING except suspension, motor and tranny. As long as the TOP of the cab isn't smashed in, it's ok.

There's a place on route 411 in Vonore, TN (south of Knoxville) that has a whole yard full of wrecked late model Toyota trucks. I don't recall the name (sorry), I just remember driving by it all the time when I was on my way to visit my parents. Vonore is a very small town, so I expect that it wouldn't be too tough too find out the name of it.

I know to buy from our Insurance actions you have to be a salvage dealer or have them buy for you. Not sure on other areas. A guy I work with can buy from here. klode.com They have links to some sites where you can buy salvage autos from resellers.
Here is one going tomorrow!

Good luck! It is a lot fun.

Here is an 03 with only 4000 miles! 03 Tacoma
This ones not too bad. Would make a nice buggy. Replace the cab and your set if no frame damage.
