My "Which wheels should I get?" poll

I plan on upgrading to some new 315/75/16 MTRs soon, and that's gonna mean I need something more than the stock 16x7 wheels. I really like some AR baja wheels, but then I realized I could just beadlock my current 3rd gen 5-spokes and achieve the width I need for the new tires (8") and at the same time be beadlocked. That also works well because I really do like my current wheels also (and searched long and hard for them to replace my factory fancy coke bottle wheels). And it'd cost less.

So with that decision made, now there's the option of powdercoating. So I guess it's not so much "wheels" but which look should I get. I'm a sucker for black wheels and might just do it with these, but could still go either way. So I thought it'd be interesting to see what the peanut gallery has to say about it.

If I go black, I'd just powdercoat the wheel and leave the beadlock ring with its original finish.

The pictures are my rig test fitting on a 315/75/16 MTR tire.

(If the pictures don't show, try using Firefox or blame godaddy hosting)

Smart move Charles. Those factory 5 stars are
Your truck looks awesome and I have always been a fan of stockish looking modded trucks.

I would say leave them alone and just widen and bead lock, but since BruceTS has those and you both live in SoCal (I think) I say go for a dark grey/ anthracite powdercoat and leave the beadlocks alone. I guess that mean I'll vote black

I prefer the black wheels. Maybe when I grow up I can get my wheels powdercoated and locked!

i like the all chrome look. but its not what i think or like, its what you do. btw, whats all involved in turning them into beadlocks? i like the look of those rims and would be tempted to purchase a set and beadlock them as well.

here's the thread about brucets beadlocking his stock wheels: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/show...&highlight=OMF

the place i'll be taking mine to do this is: http://www.omfperformance.com

yeah filthyrich, since bruce already has the regular wheels, i'd sorta like to differentiate mine. i hadn't thought about grey/anthracite, hmmm....something to consider.

I like the contrast of chrome on black for your set. Skip the mixed chrome/black wheels entirely, IMO.
