Wheel change on 96 Taco

My brother in law has a 96 4x4 Tacoma with the ugly wheels. There is a guy in town selling a set of the 15x7 6 spoke(tri star) wheels off a 98 Taco. From what I understand, the wheels on my brother's truck are 15x6 right? So, will the 15x7's fit? Are there any offset differences? Any potential problems? The guy want's $300 for the whole set and spare..... sounds like a good deal to me.

assuming both trucks are 4x4's you shouldnt have any problems with wheel fit.

I am guessing your bro has the steel wheels, right?

The wheels off the 98 will work, they are a little wider, but will fit fine and look good!

Just curious.
I tried putting my 89 pickup tires on my 96 tacoma temporarily and it wouldn't roll. I think there may not have been sufficient room for the calipers. Not sure. Does anyone know?

My bro will be really happy then. The guy selling the wheels is out until Wednesday, so we are hoping that nothing happens between now and then.
