What's your thoughts on this Runner?

My girlfriend is lookin for a 4runnner, I saw this one at a lot here in town. Although I'd rather not buy from a stealership it seems to be a pretty nice rig;
1993 4Runner SR5 metallic grey w/grey interior, 111,000 mi, V6 with headgasket recall done, auto, 4wd, power windows locks and moonroof, AC, Rear Air, Cruise control, Factory casette and CD (sounds good may have new speakers), roof rack w/crossbars and mounts, Tow pkg., new 235/75/15 Toyo A/Ts on factory steel wheels, new exhaust with 2.25" pipe. Interior is immaculate. Now for the bad; assorted scratches and a few parking lot dings, cargo area floor mat smells like dog, no jack, moonroof and pass. window switch don't work (being fixed tho), no cig lighter, some fresh undercoating in front wheel wells. They're asking $11,800 but have already said they'd sell at $7,900 and I think I can get it lower due to the small issues with it. What do you guys think? Sorry no pics forgot my camera today and now its in the service garage as the sunroof won't close and its raining. I drove it today and was very suprised with the amount of power with the auto, drives really tight no slop in the steering at all, all other controls work, really quiet, makes all the right noises. Also it was owned by a middle aged women so it probably lived a pretty easy life, and was well taken care of, oil changed every 3k etc, never been offroad. Thanks guys

i checked on edmunds for the heck of it, wanted to compare that price to what a guy is asking for a 92 4runner 2wd down here, and the highest its listed for is 5800.

IMHO...They're asking for too much money, almost if not double, it's actual worth.

That is waaaayyy too much for a 2nd Gen. You should be able to get a 100K+ 3rd Gen for that kind of money.

Just a quick look on Autotrader yielded these results.

I still think these are a little on the high side, but give you an idea.

Ya, I thought it was too much, personally I wouldn't spend more then $5k for it but just thought I'd throw it on here and get a few more opinions from people who may have a Runner. It is pretty nice but the bad thing is shes kinda stuck on it now after drivin it tonight.

Thats to much money. I bought my 93 SR5 about 4 months ago for 4200 in the DC area and all my options work (knock on wood). Granted I had to take it in on my time to get the HG done and it needed a good tune up, but she runs like a top now.

Keep looking. You can find a REALLY nice one for 5-6K. I wish I could get 11K out of mine!

You could just buy her my 2nd gen, and have it shipped there with the money you saved!! Sounds good to me, check is fine with me!

But yeah, they are asking WWAAYY too much I'm asking $6900 for mine and its a '95 with a lot of mods, thats a rip off asking over 11 grand for that thing. Get them down to mabye $5500-$5800 and then you should think about it. Check timing belt and all that too, get a CarFax or AutoCheck on it too to be sure it hasnt been in a wreck or anything. If it all checks out $5800 would probaby be worth it.

That's an incredible deal since that same '98 Limited would still command over $12k here in the Denver area.

Yeah 8k for a '98 is unheard of here, the cheapest I found a '98 was 11,5...and thats STILL cheaper than what the stealership wanted for that '92 for your girl...rediculous!

I bought my '94 back in Jan of 2000, 98,000 miles, with all options but leather and rear heater for 6. I still see 2nd gen around here for 8+ with no less than 135,000. A good 3rd gen with low miles goes around 15/17 ish range. Up around th 1999/2000 year, 18/19 ish. Any limited, 4x4, or any option they jack up the price. Most around here don't have factory roof rack, are 2wd, no spoiler, have factory steels and most are green/dune/red.
