trailgear sliders are $145. that leaves you just over 8 bills for a decent suspension lift. go with the tundra setup up front, and maybe some AAL's out back. I take it your taco is the TRD flavour? then you should already have some decent tires on there...

sliders & oem lift+aal's.

you can get them a set of 4 w/ center caps for 550 +shipping from toyotaworld.com. roughly 35lbs each wheel, shipping from houston, TX.

looks really rugged and sporty.

I cant use a welder at all right now. I dont have a garage or anything. If I was back at home Id have all this armor built already. So right now im thinkin the lift. Theres just too many options now with that so I got a lot of studying to do.

Gotta love deployment cash

I would reccommend

*Sliders
*Skid's
*small spacer lift (until you decide if you really need to $$ up for anything else).. Get ahold of www.cornfedsuspension.com if you dont want a ful 2" he will machine it down to 1.5" or 1.75"(what I am getting) for you. Its cheap, usefull, and the rear can be easily matched with a small shackle. No its not the most bling, but it is functional and lets you learn what you want to do.
*recovery gear

one you have all that you can go play, see what your needs are. Concentrate on building your rig to be protected while you learn how/what you wheel. I built my last rig too fast. And it took my 5 years. I built it for one type of wheeling, then had to adapt it when I moved (military joys), and dont wheel as much, so $$ down the tube. This next truck I get will be built like I am saying to you. You will be suprised what you can do with minimal stuff, espically with a locker. The only thing I dont know is what type of sliders I want, need to be able to get the baby in and out easily.....

Good luck...

Hey sent you a PM..

On my 89, I would do rear limited slip, front would get an air locker, and I would save the rest to help buy a winch.

Why would you put a limited slip in? Espically when you live in oregon where it snows???
