I'm buying a third gen now and i'm sure it'll ahve a factory stereo. I'll upgrade them eventually...

so i know, what are the stock size speakers in a third gen, 96 or 97. front and back.. and anywhere else

Front doors are 6 1/2" and the rears are 4".

I replaced my rears with 5 1/4". Anything bigger will require some cutting.

 

Did you have to do any mods to make those 5-1/4" rears fit?...or do they just screw in easy? Thanks

The answers to this question have always confused me.

I have a 96 Limited and put Kenwood KFC-1738C's in both my front and rear doors... Those are 6 3/4" speakers (ref: http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/P...p?i=113KFC1738)

I got them in the doors with no cutting or weird fitting issues. Dunno what to tell ya' past that point...
