In searching for parts for my 1995 Tacoma 4x4, they ask weather it was made in the early part of the year or the later. I guess Toyota came out with another version half way though the year. How do I tell which one mine is?

 

the toyota tacoma came out in 1995.5 if it looks like a tacoma and not toyota's pickup (1989-1995.5) then it was made in the later half

I appreciate the responce, but haven't been around enough of either to tell the difference by picture. Could something in the vin number tell me?

 

what engine do you have? if its the 3.4L V6 (5VZ) or the 2.7 (or is it 2.4?) I4 (2RZ or 3RZ) its the 95.5-04 model. if you have the 2.4L I4 (22RE) or the 3.0L V6 its 89-95.5 model. take a picture of your engine bay or something.

 

Key word = "Tacoma". If the name "Tacoma" appears anywhere on your truck, it's a 1995.5. It was not until then that any Toyota truck bore the name 'Tacoma'.

Prior to that, the USDM models were simply called 'Toyota pickups'.
