One more vote for the 34R Red top. I was using the Yellow top from another car in the 4Runner for a couple of years with no problems starting, etc... or going dead under heavy load. We didn't bother extending the cables or anything - we just opened up the wire loom and re-routed the cables until they reached. When I put the 34R in, we just put everything back into the original looms and locations and taped everything up.

Aloha,

Merlin

Exide Orbital...Similar to an Optima, but no lengthening of the cables. I like it a lot.

Matt, what model did you get? I'm in need of a new battery.

Here's a good artical/review about Exide Orbital batteries: http://www.rockcrawler.com/techrepor...ital/index.htm

edit: here's another one: http://www.rockcrawler.com/features/...12000exide.htm

I got the 9934/78 from NAPA. I decided against the deep cycle.

just got the 34r, took out the old corroded battery and slapped in the red top. Started the runner and what do you know it doesn't hesitate when starting anymore. I am looking forward to enjoying this for many years. I have an 800watt power inverter than I plan to permently mount in the rear of the truck one of these days.
