What have you picked up for free?
Last weekend I was at my in-laws house helping them get ready to move when I see what looks like a Hi-Lift sitting outside propped up against the house. Go over and take a look at it and it is a Hi-Lift!!! After nonchalantly asking my father-in-law if he is going to toss it, he tells me I can take it if I want as he was just planning on throwing it out.
So now I have a 60" Hi-Lift jack that works, although missing a few parts that can be replaced fairly easily. Total Cost: $0.
What have you picked up for free? Parts, equipment, etc.?

I picked up a PowerMac G3 300 computer that someone was tossing out.
Of course, I've since added about $150 into it (more memory, USB card and 80GB HD), but it works fine!
I now use it as my main computer because it's MUCH quieter than my PC.

I got rims from my friends Honda Civic (yes he's a ricer ) , he wrecked it on a bet (speed+stupidity=totally loss of brain function). I did'nt use them, so I gave them to good ol' ebay and got some spending money!

Picked up a spare spare last weekend. Went to the 'Yard Waste Drop-Off Site' to dump some branches I had cut up that day and there with the pile of branches was a tire and rim. Almost didn't even look at it - c'mon what are the chances that it's the right size and in good shape? - but I pulled it out and decided to take it home. The rim looks nearly new and the tire is in much better shape than the one that's been underneath my truck for almost 15 years now. It's smaller than the tires I'm running now, but, hey, it's for emergencies, right? (FYI noticed that the treadwear rating on this tire was 180 - the Radial Rovers I have are rated at 500!)
I've also picked up lots of misc. parts from the local recycling center, mostly stuff to make or modify things like my roof rack or trailer.

And a free carfax report.
I also got an almost brand new DVD player free. The guys mom didn't like it because the buttons on the remote were too small.
Getting stuff free is the best.

Nice deal I did last month to get a free 128mb memory stick.
Bought two 128mb Sticks at Amazon for $47 each total $94.
Applied a $10 e-coupon on purchase of $70 or more.
Qualified for free shipping on purchased of $50 or more.
Mailed in a $15 and a $20 rebate on each of the two sticks.
Total so far $14.
Sold one on ebay for $42.
$28 profit and one FREE 128MB Lexar Memory Stick, just received emails this week saying all the rebates are valid.
