This is my first 4WD and I never thought about bringing all this extra stuff. Thanks for all the good info

 

Normally I carry what is required by a local off-road club here:

1. Tow-Straps
2. Hand held CB Radio
3. Firstaid Kit
4. 2 Bottle Jacks
5. Cordless 1/2" impact (comes in uber handy)
6. Cell phone
7. Bungee cords
8. 3/8" ratchet set w/ various wreches
9. Extra belts
10. Kershaw knife (best tool I own, lol)
11. Taurus Millenium PT-145 (lol you never know)
12. My Canon XSi and AE-1 cameras

 

All the time:

tow strap
2 large shackles
1 set of jumper cables
Mag light
Avalanche shovel (works in sand as well as it does in snow)
12v compressor
screwdriver with various bits
metric wrench set
spare mags for ccw pistol


Some times:
AR15 + mags



Winter:

blankets
sleeping bag
Clif bars
insulated coveralls
