2WD XtraCabs were available with the V6 from at least as early as 1990 onward (with auto and manual trannies). I have a '93 XtraCab 3.0 V6 5-speed. Sometime around '99 (no earlier than '98; no later than '00) the V6 was discontinued in the 2WD models (except PreRunners / auto only). In 2001 Toyota once again offered V6 + manual + 2WD in the form of the S-Runner sport model (3.4L, '01 - '04). I have an '04 S-Runner, too (only way to get another V6 manual 2WD).

 

you want even rarer? toyota made V6 2wd single cab hiluxes that were sold here in the US...i think most had the 1 ton option.

V6 single cab 4x4 tacos are pretty rare too, only made in '96-97...i want one!
