Weekend Maintenance

Hey Gang, I love this site and here's why.
I was averaging 16-17 mpg which for a 3rd gen is somewhat normal. 2 weekends ago I cleaned the throttle body, lubed the driveshafts, installed a new amsoil air filter, checked tire air pressure, and detailed it.

For the last 2 tanks of gas I averaged 19 or more. Plus it runs a bit smoother. All this made possible from this forum thanks all!

PS: I think the polish and wax improved my mpg the most cause now its more aerodynamic!

Next projects: replace leaking air shock and change fuel filter.

I'm jealous b/c I did a bunch of maintenance on my 3rd gen and no extra mpg. That's great to hear that someone else is getting better mpg, especially with the gas prices nowadays.

Exactly, that's what I did. It's awesome to get all the help I've gotten here. Yotatech has helped me lighten my wallet to the tune of over $4k in the last four months.

you must not have a girlfriend or a wife or you wouldn't post such a punishable offense in a public forum.

You don't understand how pissed off my g/f gets with the mods. She doesn't care about the $, she cares about the time it takes to go to the shop; the total time and the number of times.

The total cost of my maintenance weekend was about 80 bucks. I had to get 2 new grease guns and the filter costed 30 bucks. So all in all it was a pretty cheap weekend.
