vehicle speed sensor

I have a 97 Tacoma, and my truck has been cutting out going down the freeway, and when I am rolling to a stop light it will die. The speedometer gauge is not working, and I am getting very bad gas mileage. The engine light came on, and saying the TPS, and the vehicle speed sensor. The motor is new with about 30,000 miles on it, and I have put 2 new fuel filters, new TPS, and the speedometer cable is good. I bought a vehicle speed sensor, but I have not been able to find the location of this sensor. Wondering if anyone has had this same problem with it cutting out? I don't believe it is the motor; it feels more electrical. Just wish I new where the vss was located so I could replace it.

Well the vehicle speed sensor is fixed; had to buy a $135 gauge cluster. My truck still is cutting out while driving and at idle it almost dies. I have replaced the fuel filter, throttle position sensor, and still doing it. Next I guess I will switch the fuel pressure regulator, and if that doesn't work then it's the fuel pump. Any suggestions or anyone else having this problem?
