Question Tundra V-6

I currently have a Dakota with a V-6 and can't stand it, not enough power. So a question to you current Tundra V-6 owners: Are you happy with the performance of the truck, and if you had to do it over again would you buy the V-8 instead. Thanks for any input you can give me.

Welcome to our world. All Tundras have the 2UZ V-8. It's tuned slightly differently in Tundra and Sequoia than in the Land Cruiser and 4Runner, but is basically the same mill.

EDIT: Bah, I just realized that all 4X4 Tundras have the V-8 while the V-6 is available in 4X2 only. My experience is with the 4X4, and it had adequate power. I'd think the 4X2 would be marginal with the V-6, but maybe someone here can comment. Tundra is very heavy and needs all the torque it can get. Oh, and the brakes are iffy especially when loaded or towing down a mountain.

My neighbor has a Tundra w/the V6. He isn't a gear head so the power is sufficient for him. However, after I let him drive my S/C'd Tacoma he was a little jealous... IMO, you might was well do it right and get the V8 in a truck that size.

Compare the power to weight ratio of both trucks, and that will pretty much be your answer.

If you get a 5 speed, it will be faster than the Auto.
