Tundra CV shafts in 4Runner..?

Not sure if anyone else has seen it or not but there is a nice 3rd gen. 4Runner in the latest Peterson's 4Wheel & Offroad in the readers rigs section. In his little profile thing, he states that he has Tundra CV axles? I've never heard of this before. Are they a direct swap and are they stronger? Or is this guy just on something?

Just saw this smiley and its awesome...

he might be running longer A-arms. I believe the tundra one are longer and are not a direct swap.

Yep... I just checked and he's running the total chaos long travel arms!

Ok so the long travel a-arms is what allows for the Tundra CVs? Interesting...

Well, yeah, long travel makes your stance wider, and doing so allows for a longer arc...aka longer travel. To retain your 4wd with long travel, you need to get custom length CV's or modify the Tundra CV's.

I believe its a pretty easy modification thats able to be done at home.

Thanks for the answers guys! I never really knew how the long travel system worked. Never really looked into it since its so expensive.
