hey guys, this site is SO addicting. Its nuts lol, already painting my wheels black, bumpers, getting clear corners, 31's, true flow air system, and deckplate mod.

Now I want a lift, I was looking at the

2.5" 4Runner Lift Kit
$269.99
+ $25 S/H Included in kit:
2.5" Front Lift Spacers-- CNC Machined From T-6 6061 Aluminum
3" Rear Lift coil springs (2" lift rear coils also available-same price)
Install Directions

I have a few questions, Im a TOTAL newbie when it comes to this. And yes Ive read the FAQ too

When you add lift spacers, I know it makes your ride suffer. But is that all I have to do is place those spacers between the coil and mount?

And for the rear all I have to do is place the new springs? no new shocks or anything like that?

Will 31's work on a lift like that? or am I going to be farther around with running a 1' body lift?

EDIT-

Can the 2.7 motor handle the lift and 31's? Im going to add a borla exhaust, deckplate mod, true flow filter thats it.
Any suggestions or opinions please, thanks for all your help!

31s will work with stock suspension man. you can run up to a 265/75 on stock suspension/16in wheels which gives you a tiny bit over 32". 2.5 inches of lift will allow you to clear 285/75s, which are 33s

yeah you'll be fine. may be a little more sluggish off the line but the 2.7 is definitely capable of handling a 2.5

Ok thanks, im only going to be running 31's so I might just take the 1inch body lift route or the 2.5 I cant decide!

Can it handle it............that would be a big 10-4
If a 22re (2.4L) can handle up to 32's without re gearing (33's are possible but it would be oober slow) then a 2.7 can handle 31's and a mild lift. I have a 22re running 31's and no lift and it's definately no racecar, but it does great for what it is. I can hold 80 on the freeway no problem.

If you are not going to run larger tires, I wouldn't waste money on body lift. It would just give you a higher center of gravity)

Oh and welcome to YT, and yes it is very addicting
