Actually, there's a capital "P" in there....impassable thru the lower intestine of a bear. It's documented.

My apologies for the misspelling, I guess I should have elaborated a bit more on the troubleshooting, so here goes; I have owned this truck since '05, I have taken the actuator off a number of times for preventive maintenance, I had been made aware of the dissimilar metal corrosion that is common with them, and living in an area where they salt the roads all winter long, that made perfect sense. I managed to prevent the majority of the corrosion with LPS 3, a wonderful product for corrosion protection. This became part of my annual maintenance procedures.
The first time the locker failed to operate, when I first got the truck,it was the shaft seized, that is the one that has the little gear on it that engages with the rack gear in the pumpkin, took the whole thing apart and cleaned it all up then reassembled the unit, using the LPS 3 as protection, I never had an other issue with the unit until the magnets came off. I thought that I must have put them on in not quite the exact position, because it has not worked since. I will look at more electrical troubleshooting in the actuator motor when I get back.

wow....My 01 Taco has the e-locker but the motor assembly still looks basically brand new. I'm sure being down here in the Arizona environment has a lot to do with it. You guys back East and up in Canada seem to have all kinds of rust issues on ALL parts. We all know it's the dampness and the salt. So, I haven't heard of anybody doing this yet but what about globbing on some really thick black tar-like substance that will at least dry to the touch? Something that will shield the entire e-motor assembly so that the erosion in the above picture will never happen? If that motor becomes damaged then it sounds like the only cost effective repair is to buy an entire used e-locker 3rd from one of the FOR SALE boards.
