How about some pics?

Although I do understand where all the negativity comes from and TRDs shortcomings, I believe TRD adds that little bit of color and coolness to Toyota just like SVT has done for Ford. I was thinking of getting an Exterra or Pathfinder but without a performance branch, it seemed a little less exciting. TRD gives us all an excuse to legally (warranty-wise) install aftermaket parts on our trucks. Everything seems cool until there is a problem and then the dealer voids your warranty. Who cares if TRD didn't make the supercharger or the Blitstein shocks? Fact is, you can put some practical eye candy under your hood or on the suspension, make the vehicle different from everyone elses, add that cool factor, awe your friends on Saturday night, and be able to really use the equipment because on Monday morning, Toyota has to fix any problems or complaints due to the warranty. I like car shows and TRD lets me customize without worry. As far as the TRD sticker on the side of my 4Runner, yes I have one. The Tacoma TRD has Aftermarket shocks and a locker... so does my 4Runner. Mine is silver and the gray/silver TRD sticker really looks nice on it's side. I kind of "blends" if you will...

Here are some shots of the sticker... http://caraudioresources.net/install...4runner&page=2

I had to cut it. I used tape over the door and drew with a pencil on the tape to get the curve of the door. I cut the tape and transferred this curve to the sticker and then cut the sticker. Voila!

Hey LSU:

send me a dead-on side view pic of your 4runner---maybe from the passenger area and back to the end---and I'll photoshop 2 (only 2!!!) decals that you like on it for you so you can see what it looks like.

Remember, it has to be a dead on shot so just walk up to your 4runner, take a few paces back, level the camera center w/ it and snap a pic or two.

Send it to my email.

Bob

LOL they are not saying "Turd" in a derogatory way...that is just the way TRD when sounded out sounds.....

No....I had to ride with them for a bit and whenever we passed a truck with TRD decals on it , they would have to come up with some "sly" comment.
Example: "Oh we just passed another piece of tuuurrrd" etc. etc.
So I did this as I was getting out of their truck, JERKS.

Not to mention that I had To pull that POS Blazer out of a mud hole more than once that day.

:o)

It is really easy to put the decals on... Mine have been on since 1997.... just stuck them on and sliced around the fuel door with an exact-o knife and folded them down!

I figure my truck is as TRD as any other TRD on the road plus there is a definate 'coolness' factor stemming from being one of the only 4Runners in my area with such stickers..

Man, this post just won't go away. Well, just to let ya'll know, I went with these instead of the decals. I fought the air bubbles so I pulled them off and slapped these on......

Cebby,
No it does not. Actually, it is five separate pieces (two chevron emblems, T, R, and D). You peel off one side of the tape and apply it to the car and then peel the other side off. It looks really good. I believe someone else on here has the same emblems with pics on their webshots. I will be posting some pics soon when I get my Christmas mods added. Later.

stickers do enhance the looks. you just have to stick on the ones that doesnt make everyone laugh, just the other day i saw a white 98ish Tacoma with a SiR sticker on that's meant for 96-up Honda Civic on both side of his door. Talk about Identity crisis....

They have some really nice carbon fiber TRD logos here in Okinawa, Japan, but I haven't found a good place for them to go on my 4th Gen.

Just a question, so is it okay to put these stickers on even if you don't have a single TRD piece of equipment on your vehicle? I like the TRD off-road, since I feel like all of us that are modding our trucks are doing toyota development, regardless of whether we're buying TRD parts- what do you guys think?

Go for it! I bet most ricers don't have 1/2 the stuff they have stickers for. But then again, I'm just speculating.

I like the TRD stickers too, just haven't got around to getting any.
