Trd

They seem to make a wide variety of performance products, supercharger, lowering kit, etc.

Why doesn't TRD make a 2-3" lift kit for the new '03 Runner? I would much rather have a lift kit from the engineering people who designed the vehicle.

Is it because of liability TRD doesn't make such a kit?

I am not sure. But TRD doesn't make the springs they sell. They are Eibach and other comanies, and TRD just stamps their name on it.

TRD doesn't make a lot of things that their name is on. Their cat-back exhaust is made by Borla, headers by Thorley, etc. etc.

Just thought you might like to know.

Marketing Strategy

It's a name that sells, TRD, just like with refrigerators, I know, weird analogy. I just learned this this past weekend though. You can buy a Kenmore from SEARS but that don't mean it is really a Kenmore. It could be one made by someone else with Kenmore's name on it becaues of Kenmore's reputation but in reality a sucky fridge.

I am not sure why everyone is so surprised at this. Lots of manufacturers make stuff and slap the best brand they can on it or will have stuff made for them and slap their brand on it. Whatever is cheapest is how it will be done. Especially true now with the revolution of globalization trends.
