Question Trany temp gage on tundra

Has anyone installed a trany temp gage on a auto trans Tundra?
Is there a port to install the temp sender or must it be installed in the cooler line?

Thanks for any help.

The Tundra is basically the same configuration as the 4Runners. The best place for that sensor is in the tranny cooler line leaving the trans. You can locate the proper line by looking at the passenger side (US) of the tranny and you will see two metal cooler lines. One originate near the bell housing and you should see the factory over temp sensor mounted in that line where it originates from the tranny. Follow that line forward toward the cooler and locate the soft line that connects to it.

That is the soft line you want to install your temp sensor.
