I swapped out the transmission from a 1999 4 Runner into a 2002 Tacoma. Everything is good except for the connector on the transmission does not match the harness. The vehicle will not start, any suggestions ?

 

I am guessing Automatic

Find copies of the Electrical wiring diagrams for both vehicles.

Sit down and figure things out.

This could have 2 different ECT modules


Deciding just what your going to do do you still have the plug from the original transmission.

That could maybe be repinned to work

Buy a new male and female connector and wire it as you need

 

did the transmission have a kickdown cable or no? my 2003 tacoma does not. Also, did you swap the transfercase over? they are different.
