transmission question

I have a transmission question for you fellow 4runner owners and everyone. I have a 1997 4runner sr5, v6, 4wd, automatic transmission. I live in north eastern ky and I drove 460 miles to middle of pensilvania. The truck drove great on the roads, it got 23.3 mpg and didn't shift hard or anything. When I stopped for gas was the only time I put the truck in park, the rest of the time of course the truck was in drive. When I came to the hotel where I was staying I backed the truck into the parking spot like I always do. When I put the truck in reverse it jerked into gear. After the truck had time to cool down it shifted just fine into reverse and all of the other gears. I checked the fluid, it was a quart low but it was blood red like it should be and it wasn't burnt. It did the same thing when I drove it home. I have driven it a couple weeks now and haven't had any problems with it shifting in any gears. Does any one have any thoughts about that?

I wouldn't worry about it. As long as your fluid is in good shape and you didn't overheat it at any time there shouldn't be a problem.
