In preparation for installing my supercharger, I'm planning on adding a transmission cooler, per the recommendations of others on this forum.

For reference, this site:

... has tranny coolers of various sizes. Just how big a cooler is necessary for my '99? It seems to me that the smaller the better for mounting, but it also has to be large enough to do the job.

Recommendations?

General consensus is the bigger the better. However, my TRD cooler is on the smaller side (about 8"x10"). Most people go with a significantly larger Hayden cooler.

 

OK, so there's no such thing as "too big" when it comes to tranny coolers, huh?

What about the larger ones blocking air into the radiator? Won't a large tranny cooler block a significant amount of cooling air to the radiator?

Im running the extra heavy duty 30,000 lbs Hayden. It's size is not that much bigger and cools alot better. Go with Hayden. Same as TRD but about 1/3 of the price.
