Tranny issues!!

I towed my 04 Tacoma with a dolly and now the tranny is cooked. I did get F to work but R does not work. Any idea's? If looking for a swap what other years can I look for? I believe it is A340F

When you say on a dolly, I'm guessing you had the rear wheels still in contact with the ground and didn't pull the driveshaft to prevent the transmission from spinning. The problem in that set-up is the pump isn't turning from the input shaft spinning with the motor and the trans fluid overheated and caused damage. How much damage is up to the inspection after a tear down of your trans.

Have you tried changing the fluid? When you put it in drive, does it go normally? Or do you have to rev it up really high to get it going? It could just be a burned out pump, maybe a torque converter, or reverse clutches.

eBay will be your friend if there isn't a pick and pull nearby that you trust.
