GX! This is going to be a fun project to build up. All this talk of the 05 got me going, so I decided what the hell.

Interior is not too bad

Engine bay ala Darth Vader

Bliksem seemed happy with his new ride

Whoa, right there is my dream truck. With the enhancements for '05 like VVT-i and KDSS, I think it's the most sophisticated, luxurious, practical, perfectly sized all weather and terrain vehicle for sale in the U.S. Can you tell I like it?

Good move, congrats and may you have many happy miles. Oh yeah, if it's like the LX the running boards remove with 8 bolts and one plug per side, and you'll gain about 1 mpg plus better accel and handling by leaving the third row seats in a closet.

Sensational rig and great dealer service, but plan on doing the services after the first free one yourself. They charge obscene rates compared to your former Toyota rates. Good luck, hope you stay around and post some Lexus gone wild pics.

sweet ride. That rear door might take some getting used to.
Can't wait to see what happens to it...

Sweet ride. I can't wait to see your plans for it. Have you got a Saws-all or do you need to borrow one?

Pssst: Does that rear window go down into the door like the Runner?

Congrats, keep us posted.

Sweet ride. I think that it is awesome that is going to take an already very capable, and luxurious(sp) vehicle and make it into an even more capable rig that they will still drive every day.

Good luck.

Ok guys I was just teasing !!

I kept the 4Runner!!! My GF had a Freelander which we couldn't stand anymore. So we traded the Freelander for the GX. The GX will stay stock for quite a few years to come and be the DD.

Here they are at home

Thanx for all the comps and support. I expected some flaming

To be honest if money was no problem the GX would probably make a better starting point for an offroad rig than the 4RUnner. AT least it has a stick for the transfer case, roofrack has more support points and more cargo and interior space. Maybe one day I can turn this into a real fun mobile. Would love to do the RUbicon in it, like the Trailex. Now the 4Runner is first priority.

Now I have a 4Runner mall cruiser and "super pink panties" GX mall cruiser

Time for an engine/ecu swap. She'll never know the difference. Did she opt for KDSS? Reviewers are almost unanimous in their admiration for the system.

No KDSS, I pushed for it, but it came down to color options  Couldn't get KDSS with the light interior, seems like that the 05s only get KDSS with the sport option. Sport option is basically KDSS with different color schemes (darker interior, wheels color, and some few odds and ends) and limited exterior color options. She will be driving it mostly so I left the choice to her. Her first choice was an X5 though, had to dodge that one man. The X5 was way more sporty than the GX even with KDSS and quieter, but it is smaller inside, less comfortable and I prefer to drive the car I buy rather than a loaner from the shop

It handles good, but the KDSS would be better. I'm also not sure how well KDSS will handle future (well into the future) suspension mods, after taking out my 4Runner's XREAS I'm a bit sceptical, and KDSS will be nearly impossible to remove if needs be.

Have been plotting this for almost a year now Had to get rid of that damn Freelander man, the yellow one you saw at Pismo. Now my 4Runner doesn't have to be the nice car in the family anymore

I probably should have, but everybody was too nice man. I was waiting for a flamefest I probably should have said it so much better than the 4Runner
