Whatever you do, avoid car payments at all costs. If that means selling your 02 to get an older 4x4 (maybe a 98+ with locker) then do it.

why do you need an engine?
i was thinking you could pick up a first gen runner for the same price as the 4by stuff. but then youd have to put some money into it im sure, i just love those first gens......

i think you have plenty of friends that can help you do a swap, my local ttora does wrench-a-thons to help members who want help all the time. since this is a hobby i find spending days off working on yotas ONE of the most enjoyable things i do. good luck.
