i was thinking you could pick up a first gen runner for the same price as the 4by stuff. but then youd have to put some money into it im sure, i just love those first gens......
i think you have plenty of friends that can help you do a swap, my local ttora does wrench-a-thons to help members who want help all the time. since this is a hobby i find spending days off working on yotas ONE of the most enjoyable things i do. good luck.

Peter,
I would wait for the new Tacoma to arrive. If you don't like it, then start searching for a new (old body style) Tacoma. Dealers will be selling those cheap to clear out the lot space for the new trucks.
My wife really wants a DC Tacoma, but I am going to wait for the reason I mentioned above.

I'm not sure if 2 vehicles is up my alley but who knows what the future holds

Yeah, I see that TTORA has a lot of wrenchathons going on but I'm not sure my personality vibes with theirs. I don't party, I don't drink, and I live a pretty conservatively quiet life
I am going to see if we can set up a SoCAl wrenchathon sometime later as I hope to have lift stuff ready to go soon
