2002 tacoma supercharged, URD 7th injector kit.

Having electrical problems on the truck I am working on. With TPS plugged in the truck runs good, idles at 750RPM, BUT cuts power at 2500RPM.

With the TPS unplugged, the truck runs good. Although it idles high, and when you are at the bottom of the RPM range and punch the gas, it will hesitate bad, almost killing the motor.

Any ideas? Bad TPS?

 

Sounds like a bad TPS to me. Mine would stop revving higher than about 2500 RPM's despite me flooring the accelerator (sounds like this is what yours is doing). I unplugged it an plugged it back in, and that temporarily fixed it, but it's fairly cheap so I replaced it anyway, havn't had any problems since.

 

Good way to find out if the TPS is bad...TEST IT.
