TPS bad?
so, every now and then my check engine light comes on, and usually if i turn the truck off and on once or twice... then it goes away.
i've also noticed that it often idels at liek 1200 sometimes (doesnt matter if the engine is hot or 1st thing in the morning) which scems reallly high, i would expect under 800. a while ago, the light came on, and it would hunt and eventually just die. so i just kept on the throttle to keep it lit, and it worked and went away like 30 min later (all 30 min was driving freeway)
so, i finally went to protrux they read the stored error code. and it came up as throttle position sensor. they sugested cleaning the throttle body before i got a new sensor, which i did, and i havnt seen a light since, does that sound like a logical solution? thing is, it still idles really high like over 1100, could something else be wrong that just isn't monitored by the polution control business.
