Toyota's built in Mexico
This weekend I was checking out the hilux at Toyota of Culiacan--this is a city in Mexico. They are on a 4wd chasis with 2wd The reason Toyota is building trucks in Mexico is so they can sell them here. For example if they export 25,310 Tacos to the U.S. then they can sell 25,310 Taco's here in Mexico. As far as I know the only trucks that they still build in Japan are the Land Cruiser and the 4Runner.
