Toyota or Dayco

I am ordering some back up belts for my Supercharger. Does anyone have experience with using the dayco belt vs. the toyota belt? I am about to order a toyota belt online, but was wondering if I would be better off getting one from dayco??? thanks

I don't know s/c, but the rest of my belts are dayco and they hold up just fine.

i just bought my backup S/C belt yesterday, it is a dayco belt made for toyota. I bought mine for $12 from the dealer. also according to gadget the belt is a 62" 4 rib belt in case anyone is in a bind cause theirs is broken and they have to wait for one to be ordered.

When in doubt, go OEM.

Dayco is crap. There's a reason they have a lifetime warranty - they sell cheap belts for a lot of money then just give you another new cheap belt when it breaks. What a great business model. The point is that it WILL break. I worked at an autoparts store a while back and it was ridiculous how many Dayco belts would come back under warranty. Check one out side by side with an OEM or Gates... the Dayco's aren't rubber, they're plastic.

For belts, go Gates or OEM.

Red face

I am sure in around 9 years said belts have been changed if the vehicle is driven .

The Dayco blue belt is a good product. Both military and law enforcement use them. I ran them on an 84 SVO for years with no issues. Their parts store belts I can't comment on. Tony
