Towing capacity

Like the title says, what’s the towing capacity of a 4Runner?

The placard says GVWR is 5250. I just got weighed with an empty motorcycle trailer at 5500. I can’t believe this has so little headroom that an empty trailer puts it overweight.

Okay so I found this Website That says towing capacity is 5000# and payload is 1250#.

So I guess I was safer than I thought going to the dump at 6880#. I had another 3000# to load up.

Dan,
I have a single axle hydraulic dump trailer that weighs 1,500 lbs empty. I’ve brought home numerous 1-ton loads of river rock over the years. The 4Runner is not a fan.

Ooooooooo, totally jealous of a dump trailer. My motorcycle/utility trailer is solid and I curse myself for all the crap I load on it during my home reno.
