tow hook on rear threaded ???

tow hook on rear threaded ???
any one know if the hook itself is threaded ? I have the heads of the bolts cut off and that damn thing wont move. Im trying to remove my trailer hitch.

What are you talking about??

Most all the factory trucks don`t have hooks in the back some one installed them

Are they also welded ??

If you (I mean the OP) are talking about a 4Runner, the '99 SR5 V6 4WD definitely did not come with a rear hook. I own one I bought new.

My 96 has one, on the passenger rear and if they are like the fronts I'm sure it's thread try pounding on it with a hammer that always works! Lmao

mine has one on passenger side rear and I have beat the crap out of this thing. I also tried prying it off.

On the front ones, there are 2 very obvious bolts that hold it on.
Are there bolts on that rear one?

I had a 99 4runner and currently have a 2000. Neither came with a rear tow hook. I took one off the front of another 3rd gen 4runner and added it to the rear of my current. The tow hood was not threaded.

yes there is two bolts both stripped so I cut off the heads and now im having trouble getting the hook to loosen but I am beginning to win the battle.
