torsion bars require manual hubs?

hey guys this is an urgent question. I just recieved my torsion bars and was looking at the directions. It said for there to be no more than 15 inches from the wheel to the wheell well. I am at 13 1/4 right now..i was thinking of lifting it another inch with the torsion bars...as I was reading I saw that it said that unless one has manual hubs its almost enevitable to have 'costly' problems a lot..umm this has scared me. Will I be in danger of my manual hubs if I crank them even 1/2 inch? thanks for the replys..

What they are saying is that cranking up the t-bars will increase the CV joint angle and cause the boots to fail. You'll wind up replacing your front drive axles on a regular basis.

If you put on manual hubs and keep them unlocked, your drive axles won't be turning all the time. This will prolong the life of the drive axles because they'll only be turning when you're actually using them (when you lock in the hubs and use 4 wheel drive).

You should be able to pick up a used set of Aisin hubs for around $50. Well worth the investment.

Hey Kyle, as long as you aren't over the 15 inches you shouldn't have any problems it's when you go higher than that you need manual hubs. What t-bars did you get?

Don't forget that if you crank your bars you need to get the front end aligned ASAP because it throws it out of whack.
