Torque Setting

Anyone what to torque the bolts to when mateing the hub housing to the rotor? I'll be putting new rotors on my '94 Runner and Chiltons dosen't say anything about it.

On the 87 4Runner, the torque is 47 ft lbs. I would think yours is similar. Make sure your hub is clean (no rust or dirt) or the rotor will not be true.

Haynes says 29-39 ft. lbs for 4WD, 40-54 ft. lbs for 2WD.

Caliper bolts at 90 ft. lbs for 4WD, and 47 for 2WD.

Ok I'm confused. Why would a 2WD have a hub housing?

2 wheel drive still has a hub. The hub is the part the wheel bearings press into. It is just not a drive hub ( it is smaller than a 4 wheel drive hub too)

You could look at it this way:

2wd = open hubs
4wd = live hubs, auto hubs or manually locking hubs
