Edge,

I DO have the Michelins. They are the Cross Terrains and came stock with the truck. I just looked again to make sure I wasn not insaine. I have absolutely no complaints and they make a great tire. I simply like the size of the Revos more.

Perfect!

The wheels fill the wells out perfectly.

I want one of those mirrors on the front quarter. When I was first in Japan I thought " Those things are weird" but I quickly came to appreciate them. Now trying to live with a blind spot and those cheap round stick on trailer mirrors, I'm wondering if I could install one of those blind spot mirrors on my 03!

Do you have any idea what one would cost from a Japanese dealer? I'm sure my local dealer wouldn't even know what I was talking about much less where to order one.

Doug- I've been asked this many times here. I could probably get you one but it would be for mounting on a right hand drive vehicle (front left fendor) and since your left hand drive, I don't think it would help at all.

It's not really a blind spot mirror, but rather a look down the left side tires and accross the front of the bumper. This years model actually has TWO mirrors mounted in that housing.

Anyways, thanks for the replies and the help to all. So far the tires are great and still, not a rub.

Anyone want to buy the Dunlops?

Doh! I didn't even think about the fact that you drive on the other side. <feeling really dumb about now>

Thanks Woody!

I just sold the Dunlops for $200

That brings my total cost to $538 for the 4 new Revos, including freight, mounting and balancing.

I am a happy camper. Now if these typhoons would leave us alone...

did you get the free DVD player that they're offering as a special deal? or is it for US deals only? after my last post, I went and got BFG AT KOs(265/75/16), I paid $760 out the door. thats's with Siping, extended warranty, free lifetime balancing..etc. I wanted the REVOs but changed my mind at the last minute. The Revos do look good, I bet yours will last much longer than mine.

No free DVD player for me. I got mine from tirerack.com and it took them a little more than a month to get here. I ordered them August 5th.

Speaking of the warranty, where do I find the tire serial numbers on the tires? Is it the sequence that starts with DOT? I need to fill out the warranty registration and mail it in.

Thanks.

I just realized that Woody's 2003 4X4 Hilux Surf SSR-G 5VZ-FE is the 3.4L V6...isn't that wierd that toyota would put 3 different engines in the same vehicle? I thought they were trying to make the foregin and domestic cars more similar....same platform and all?

They actually have two other engines to choose from here.

Toyota also has the 3.0L Intercooler Turbo Diesel and a 2.7L gasoline engine

Black Out - and here's why...

The 4Runner is a U T I L I T Y vehicle guy's...like white-walls on a bulldozer, it just doesn't serve the function (at least in visual appearance). If you must have those contrasting letters out, get a sports car! Didn't white letter tires first evolve from the race track anyway???

And I must add- my sister put Dueler Revos on her Xterra 4 months ago (letters out) and the white paint on them is already fading away. Anyone else experienced this?

BLACK OR WHITE -who cares I cant get 'em

I am in dire need of new Revo's. The revos have a month back order as of yesterday/10/20/03. So I say I will go for the KO's--nope also on backorder.
What is going on.
I want to do some things to my truck before Winter approacheth, and now I am in waiting for some tires. I guess I will do a Bilstein Job in the meantime.
I want a good dual purpose tire and to get the Wranglers RT/s' off.
So I say if I ever get the Revos I will put em black out- i just dont like the whites on the inside- why cant they make it both ways
?

Has anyone ever tried using a paint pen on the white letters to blacken them out when they are mounted on the inside? I may have to give it a try...

The paint pen won't work and when it starts to come off it'll look like crap.

I say white out if you are getting some agressive, brand name tires...like bfg mudterrains or even all terrains.....black out if you get sportier street tires or wal-mart brand super cheap tires, white out doesnt look good if you tire says "Wal-Mart SuperDuperPooper-Terrains"......my trd came with white out and i think it looks pretty good....

White, then use ''bleche-wite'' tire cleaner on them, it keeps white lettering looking like new.
