I had a 1996 tacoma and had 32/11.5/15 bfg muds on black steel wheels with 3.75bs i believe, with 2.5 inches of lift. will these fit a 1997 4runner the same or at all and how much lift will i need. thanks

depends on what size rims you have on your runner. 265/75/16~ 32" will fit on a 4runner w/o any lift and no rubbing(i dont think, unless fully stuffed?)

Do a search, there are tons of tire size threads out there.

I've got 15" black steel wheels on my 01 Tacoma, and I tried to see if they'd fit on my 96 Runner, and they wouldn't. 16" is the smallest that will fit on my 4Runner.

aren't you the one selling the black tacoma? anyway, didn't your 4runner come with 15 inch wheels? which wheels did you try to fit? and why didn't they fit? just trying to figure out what I am going to get!

if the 4runner didnt come stock with 15" wheels, you won't be able to fit 15" wheels.

Yep, that's me. My 4Runner came with 16" wheels. I tried fitting the US 84 steel wheels on the 4Runner, but the calipers are too big. Unlike the Tacomas, if the 4Runner came stock with 16" wheels, that's the only size it's going to fit (unless bigger of course). My plan is to get a set of 16x8 black steel wheels (cheapest) and a set of 285/75/16 mud tires in the future after I get a lift. I just picked up some SAWs for cheap, but I'll need to get them rebuilt, then it's LC coils or OME for the rear, and probably a 4crawler 1" BL. Plus, before anyone gets too interested in the truck, I'm going to cut the sliders off, and put them on the 4Runner.

I've been thinking about grinding down the calipers a little to fit some 15" rims... It just pisses me off how much more a 16" tire is than a 15!!

the lift is a pain, I am having trouble picking a lift. I am either going with OME or some spacer. i like OME but want more than 2" in front. I didn't mind my spacers on the tacoma. I probably will try my tires and wheels from the tacoma before it goes just to see if they fit!

It does appear to be a bigger pain than the Tacoma, but I think it's because the lack of options. I have a spacer lift on my Tacoma, and it wasn't that bad. It was the rear I originally had problems with being too stiff. I need to find something for the rear of the 4R, and I may just go with the LC coils as it may be cheaper than the OME, and many seem to like it.

Where you able to sell the Tacoma through ebay, and were you able to get what you wanted? I need to sell the Tacoma, but no luck so far. I'm thinking trying ebay, but wasn't too sure about it.

BTW, what style 4R did you get?

i have been away from this for awhile, I bought a 97 4runner with 61000 miles on it. I am still dealing with someone on the ebay auction on my truck, i had to relist it due to a guy finding one closer to california where he lived, The 2nd auction ended last week for $4680 and the gut is from NH. He got the loan and is supposed to come this weekend to get it but I am not going to hold my breath! latr
