Tire trade ins?

I've got the 3" ome lift on the way, should be at my door by wednsday. I would really like to have a new set of 285/75s by the time its put on so i can do the alignment/tire swap at the same time. i'm in the process of ebaying a bunch of stuff to get the fundage up (hey, if you're interested in a 1 of a kind autographed 2000 sec championship game ball enlosed in a custom engraved case, pm me hahaha ) but so far no luck. my dad is still back in san diego and says he can have 200 for me by next week. i'm going to pawn some sound equipment of mine to add to the piggy bank as well (hoping to get a bill fifty or so). but i also have the 265/75s that i'm currently running on my 4runner, along with a set of 31x1250 interco super swampers sitting in my living room (2 great condition, one moderate, one poor). Long story short, I could have sworn there was a tire chain that had a deal like you could trade in a set of used tires for 1 new tire. maybe i'm just insane but i'm thinking of any way possible to get the moolash to get these shoes! any ideas, recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, I love you guys

I believe any tire shop will buy or give you credit for take-off tires (Big O, Discount Tire, etc.). But they won't give you much. You'd get more if you sold them in your local classifieds.

I did that when I went to my 255/85's. Took all four take-offs to a new and used tire place and traded them in for one used 255/85. I aked how much they would have bought them for, and they said $20 for the set. You will definetly get more from selling them in the classifieds, but it may take a while.
