Tire Size

I'm new to the list so I apologize if this has been covered but I imagine you guys have a lot more experience than I do. I have a 3rd gen runner with bald tires. I made the decision to go with the Dueler M/T's but I can't decide what size. They come in 265/75-16 and 285/75-16. I'm planning on lifting it 2" with the SAW racerunners and either Downey or OME in the rear. I like the look of the bigger 285's but I'm concerned about on-road use. I use my rig as a daily driver and don't plan on doing much extreme rock crawling but I do want to get up on the trails more.

Are the 285's going to effect the pavement ride? Also if I go with the bigger tire will the spare still fit under the rear? Thanks for the help.

No, in terms of ride, but yes in terms of more rolling resistance which will affect the gas mileage a little.; A 285 spare will only fit without a hitch receiver.

Welcome!
