Question Timing tensioner......

I am putting my timing belt back on and was wondering how important the "securing" bolt is on the timing tensioner. When I removed the tensioner, there was no bolt and i'm pretty sure it was that way for about 100k. Anyway, I was just wondering if it's ok with just the spring and proper torque or if I should go get the other bolt for it..... and if it IS very important what size is it?

All opinions will be appreciated.....

I don't know what size it is, but I can assure you it's pretty important. If it could be left off with no ill affects the factory would have done just that as an MCM (material cost management).

ya, for the 10 cents it cost to buy a new bolt, it's a better option over tearing into the engine again to do things right the second time.
